Annual Report 2021
|
In 2021, the Planning For Tomorrow Youth Organisation (P4T), a refugee-led CBO in Uganda’s Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, reached 3,472 vulnerable individuals through its holistic "bottom-up" humanitarian programs. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant influx of new refugees, P4T successfully provided quality education to 542 students (achieving a 100% pass rate for its primary leavers), delivered healthcare and medical missions to over 1,250 people, and supported 50 women and youth with vocational skills training. The organization also addressed critical protection needs by referring 130 GBV and child protection cases, constructing 6 water wells, and providing emergency food relief to 1,500 households, all while maintaining a vision of community self-reliance. | 2.39 MB | View |
Our staff lived in these same settlements, fled the same conflicts, and rebuilt their lives from nothing. We don't study refugee problems in reports; we lived them. We don't design programmes in distant offices; we create solutions alongside our n eighbours who face these challenges daily. This isn't charity from outsiders; it's community members empowering their own community, ensuring every programme reflects real needs, respects local knowledge, and builds lasting self-reliance.
